Licensing Information for Public Libraries, Law Firms and Private Libraries, Nonprofit Organizations, and Professional Organizations

Public Libraries: $250 (full license agreement)

This license applies to public or publicly supported libraries as defined by N.J.A.C. 15:21-1.2.


Law Firms and Private Libraries (full license agreement)

This license applies to law firms that maintain special libraries as defined by N.J.A.C. 15:21-1.2.

The cost per license is based on the number of attorneys employed by the firm:

1-10: $   500
11-20: $1,000
21-35: $1,500
36-49:  $2,000
50+: $2,500

For purposes of this schedule, law firms are defined as attorneys in private practice pursuant to R.1:21-1, regardless of whether they are practicing as Professional Corporations under R.1:21-1A, Limited Liability Companies under R.1:21-1B, or Limited Liability Partnerships under R. 1:21-1C.

It is presumed that attorneys who place orders in their own names are ordering on behalf of their law firms and are subject to the above schedule.

Nonprofit Organizations (full license agreement)

This license applies to special libraries maintained by nonprofit organizations as defined by N.J.A.C. 15:21-1.2.

The cost per license is based on the nonprofit organization’s annual budget:

Under $200,000 per year:  $  25
Over $200,000 per year: $250


Professional Organizations $500 (full license agreement)

This license applies to special libraries maintained by professional organizations as defined by N.J.A.C. 15:21-1.2.
